Designed for Digital Out-of-Home Display with Matching Website Widgets
Unlike many new media applications designed for viewing content streams online, Wiffiti was designed for the "Lean Back" experience of viewing user-generated content from a distance (at a bar, a public location or a conference) as well as the "Lean Forward" experience online or via text messaging.
New Wiffiti messages are instantly displayed center screen and are easily viewable from a distance. Older messages then fade back and move as an animated cloud, providing enough ambient activity to continually stimulate audience attention and encourage engagement.
Interactivity is multi-modal - it can happen at the location via mobile phones, or online via easily embeddable website widgets. Incoming content streams and web and mobile messages update across all instances of the addressed Wiffiti screen automatically.
Instant Text-to-Screen from Mobile or Web
Mobile and Web Messaging are key features for location interactivity, and do not require that the user is a member of any social network to participate. Upon request, Wiffiti screens can be set to ONLY display mobile messages.
Mobile messages display a user's profile picture and custom name (if the user has registered with the system) or the user's randomly generated Wiffiti name.
Location Aware
We've added more location aware features to Wiffiti! We use the actual location of the screen or message source (when available) to determine and display location data. (Note: We do not require GPS enabled mobile phones to derive location information, which is just as well because most of the 4 billion phones out there don't have a unified or elegant way of doing this!)
Every Wiffiti screen has a unique location code (e.g. @JOESBAR) that you have the option of displaying with each message. This feature is very powerful for multi-location signage networks leveraging the network effect of their audience (for example, having people at one location communicate with people at another location).
Synchronously updates across Out-of-Home and Web Displays
Updates from both mobile and web are displayed synchronously across all screens subscribing to the same tags, encouraging the creation of a wide, cross-channel audience. As an example, a Wiffiti screen at a concert could also be embedded on fan websites, on a devoted Facebook page, and on the band's homepage, creating a communal audience experience fed by concert attendees as well as fans on Twitter, Flickr, etc.
Customizable Mobile Marketing Keywords and Response Txts
Participants at the event can text to the screen whether or not they are Twitter or Flickr users. Event organizers can now create their own unique screen code such as @EVENT.

Mobile users at the event can send a text message to the screen (e.g. @EVENT). Locations can also create unique mobile txt backs (e.g. "Thanks for coming to the show, get our new single from iTunes." For more details, contact LocaModa.
Easily Embeds in Digital Signage Loops
Like any LocaModa-enabled screen, Wiffiti screens can easily be embedded in digital signage loops. Either embed the Wiffiti URL in the signage loop or schedule the Wiffiti Flash widget. For more details, contact LocaModa.
Quick-Embed Wiffiti Widgets for Websites
Like any LocaModa-enabled screen, Wiffiti can be shared and embedded on websites, social networks and blogs. Any updates that are seen on a location screen will also update any of the embedded web screens. An event can now have simultaneous participation from users at the location or on-line.
Integrated Mobile, Web, and DOOH Advertising Options
For brands and sponsors wanting to leverage our cross channel audience or locations seeking advertising revenue, Wiffiti offers several options.
BrandLink is an integrated advertising unit created together with a brand's chosen tags. Brandlink can display as a 1/3 screen left or right panel. Wiffiti will display for a predetermined time together with Brandlink to create a more engaging user generated advertising experience. For example, an advertisement for Colgate could trigger a Wiffiti display tagged "smile".
Wiffiti PopUp places advertising units inside a Wiffiti display for example; every 10 messages could be a Wiffiti PopUp. Pre/Post Roll options are also available. All advertising units can be created, served, managed and tracked entirely online. For more details, contact LocaModa.
Data Tracking
Sponsors and Advertisers can get aggregate data tracking including: total interactions, number of unique users, time, date, and location information.
Simple Web Interface for Creating Custom Wiffiti Screens
Wiffiti now makes it even easier for event organizers, digital signage operators, or location owners to create interactive displays. A location display can be up and running in minutes, all via the web.
Pick Your Own Keywords and Content Topics
Screens can subscribe to easily tagged content feeds. For example, a screen might want to display messages and pictures tagged BOSTON or a specific "hashtag" for an event (e.g. #SXSW).

Automatically Integrates Tag-Based Content Feeds for Photos and Text (e.g. Twitter, Flickr)
For locations needing on-line AND live participation, screens can be configured to display feeds from websites such as Twitter and Flickr.
Twitter messages are displayed together with the user profile picture, location (if available) and tag(s).
Flickr photos are displayed together with the tag(s).
Auto Moderation
Screens can be automatically moderated. Set the screen to "R" for Restricted or "G" for General. Auto-moderation cannot be used to moderate photos.

Create Custom Usernames or Use Random Name Generator
Locations don't want streams of live txt messages signed "anonymous." Some systems display the last few digits of the user's phone number, but we've found that to be an unrewarding and invasive user experience. After all, who is user 5498?
All LocaModa-enabled screens assign anonymous users (online of via mobile phones), a username based on color + animal e.g. RedCat. The user gets a confirmation of their temporary name so they can identify their messages on screen.
If a user registers, they can change their anonymous name, choose a different anonymous name and also assign their mobile phone to that name, so they are recognized online as well as on any location screen.
Full-Screen Mode Launches in One Click
Wiffiti is best enjoyed in full-screen mode. In full-screen mode, Wiffiti will display more messages and (if selected) the text messaging call to action. Lean back and watch or send a text message and interact!
